I finally made
it to the Tri-County Help Center to donate PJ,s from the PJ sale.
My friend Margie, from, Bless Your Heart Folk Art, also participated in
the event this year and collected PJ,s and other items for the center.
She has a really nice store just up the street.
That's her, in her shop, with her basket of items to donate ,stop in and
see her next time you are in town. When I was at the center I discovered
how many really good services they have to offer.
The center specializes in mental health and anti-violence services. They
provide a 24/7 crisis hotline, as well as 24 hour emergency shelter. The
shelter provides services in Belmont, Monroe and Harrison Counties.
Last year they were able to help approximately 50 women and they are
currently in need of curtains, (44Lx36W). If you have any gently used
ones, or are willing to make some for them it would be greatly
appreciated. They also are in need of hygiene items, household cleaning
items, furniture, pots and pans, cooking utensils and silverware, and
just about anything a person needs to set up housekeeping.
The shelter can house the women and children for up to thirty days. They
then help them find housing to begin their lives over. Most of the women
are not able to return to their homes to collect their possessions. For
more information or to donate, contact me at the shop, or call the
center at, at 740-695-1639. they also have a web-site,
www.tricountyhelp.org.
This is an excellent way to help women and children, right in our own
community.

This
quilt was pieced by Bobbie Moore, and Quilted by Jackie Lucas.
Fabric and batting donated by J-Mo Meats, Chel's LTD, and Karen's Quilt
and Craft Connection.
It is currently on display at Karen's and raffle tickets are available
there as well.
All money will go to benefit 3C's and helps cancer survivors in our
community.
The drawing will be held in the spring at the 3 C's annual cancer walk.
Stop in and take a chance on it!!
